I've learned not to expect a lot from bar food and maybe that's why I was so pleasantly surprised by the local. For five dollars these chicken tenders are some of the best I've had. Served on a bed of fries you can order them tossed in buffalo, barbecue, or spicy barbecue. I would suggest sharing because it's a task on your own.
With drink specials most days, go and have a good time. The vibe is great, the food is great, and well the alcohol is a nice addition. -

The college kids love this place a lot.
It isn't bad but isn't good either. Small clamped space. Darts are dangerously close to the bar and right at the entrance (just asking for trouble). -

Stopped in for a late drink at the end of a long night. The place was very quiet for a Thursday night. Beer selection was ok, nothing exceptional. Over all the whole experience was fine. For a divey experience, go here.

This has place has changed in the five years I've been away and I am sorry to say, not for the better. To start, ladies beware of the bartender named Lee. I think that the only reason he works there is to try and pick up women. He was hitting on my friend nonstop. He would ignore the people standing at the bar waiting to order drinks until he had finished what he was saying to my friend. Then he would take their order and go right back talking to her while he was making their drinks. Pretty much ignoring the people who had given him their order. It got kind of creepy.
On top of that what I learned was the new owner was outside sitting at a table of young women and appeared to be so drunk he could barely form words. It was bad. He was buying rounds for the girls and apparently had been doing so for awhile. It was not a good look. So it appears that if you are an attractive young woman watch out because either of these two may be on the prowl.
The place also didn't have the same comfortable feel it used to have. It now feels very clickish. The appearance has also become very run down and dirty looking. About the only positive thing about the bar is that it is now nonsmoking inside. But overall it was a big disappointment. It's sad because it used to be such a great place and I was really looking forward to visiting again but after this experience I don't think I will be returning. -

The local is your classic Irish themed dive bar. The food was good bar food and the staff were nice. The reason I am giving it three stars is primarily due to the set up of the restaurant itself. There were only a handful of tables around the bar so our group ended up in a detached room with no music and a broken TV making for an eerie quite experience. I don't think it'll be going back.
